One of my prized possessions, this was sold at Wendy's fast food stores in the 80's (there were about four different colored/patterned hats...needless to say, I prefer the black one).
This photo is of my black jazz cap Mark II (I wore my first one for about two years straight, and it got all funked up...to put it mildly), which I wear sparingly, so as to preserve its specialness for decades to come.
I expected to find some facts about Wendy's jazz caps online, but apparently there's nothing really out there.
It is perhaps fitting that they remain an enigma...

Wasn't the whole thing with jazz caps a tie-in with Back to the Future II?
I don't think so (though that would make them even more awesome).
It's telling that a Google search on the subject brings my blog post up at #7. The six above are mainly people wondering if anyone's ever heard of the jazz caps.

I loved these so much, I think everyone on my t-ball team had them, I was like seven or eight, I'm, really surprised that there is so little mention of the on the web, I've been looking for them for so long.

I love the black Jazz cap. I have the same one since 1987. It is so worn out I had to cut what was left of the white headband out of it, You can't tell when its on! People often say " I like your hat, where did you get it". I say" Wendy's Jazz cap!!!" Glad someone posted the Jazz cap commercial on your blog. I found one today, it has written on the inside that says j. frost no idea if that is supposed to be there or not. but I found it for $2, it is an awesome hat to wear
Aw, my son had one - I think his was pink or peach. He wore it everyday. At night, he put it on the post of his bed. One day, it blew out the school bus window. We drove to the area after he got home, but never found it. I think I was sadder than he was that night when he didn't have his cap to hang on the bed post.
